Chief Executive New Zealand and Chief Executive Wholesale Australia
Mark has been a key player in New Zealand’s competitive telco market for two decades. While heading up the NZ business he has driven the acquisition of the number four player Orcon and transitioned from a privately owned business to form part of a Trans-Tasman ASX200 listed telecommunications company. Under his leadership, Vocus has also won an important place on the government’s Telecommunications as a Service (TaaS) panel with an ongoing commitment to bringing innovation, network investment and strong competition to all market segments.
As the leader of a dynamic business, Mark believes that achieving cultural alignment when merging business is critical to driving high engagement and successful outcomes across teams. He holds a Bachelor of Management Studies from the University of Waikato and completed Leadership for Senior Executives with Harvard Business School. Mark is a Board Member of the Elevator Group.
Chief Executive Enterprise and Government
Johnathan’s career in telco and utilities spans 17 years. He joined Vocus Group following the Group’s acquisition of Black + White; a specialised business telco he founded in 2008. Johnathan has worked in the UK, Ireland, USA and NZ for companies such as Cable & Wireless, Hutchison Whampoa, and Telecom NZ. Johnathan heads up Enterprise, Government and Wholesale at Vocus NZ and is focused on enabling his team to deliver best in class service to this key segment.
Chief Executive Consumer and Business
Taryn has been an influential figure in the NZ telecommunications industry for over two decades, working with many of NZ's most innovative and progressive internet companies. Having driven many firsts, including the first to launch Ultra Fast Broadband in NZ, Taryn is passionate about progressing NZ's digital economy and is an ardent consumer advocate. Taryn heads up Vocus' three mass-market brands; Slingshot, Orcon and Flip and leads a team of 300. He holds a Post Grad Diploma in Business Administration and an MBA from Auckland University.
Chief Executive 2talk
Jude has worked in the UK and NZ in a range of product and marketing roles for telcos and technology companies such as Netway Communications, Telecom, Racal Datacom, and Tru-Test. In 2007 she joined 2talk as general manager and has helped grow the company from a start-up to a thriving division of Vocus Group. 2talk has exported its NZ expertise and success to Australia and is quickly expanding in this new territory. Jude loves technology and is committed to growing the 2talk brand both in New Zealand and Australia.
Chief Technology Officer New Zealand
Stephen started as CTO in October 2018, after almost three years as Head of Architecture at Vocus Group. His 20-year career has seen him undertake a range of network and software roles with CallPlus, Maxnet and other businesses. He holds a Master of Science Degree with First Class Honours from the University of Auckland. He now manages a team of 120, responsible for maintaining and optimising Vocus Group’s NZ network, which includes more than 4,200km of fibre, more than 200 exchanges, and 125 handovers and POPs nationwide.
Chief Financial Officer New Zealand
Aaron joined Vocus in September 2018 as Chief Financial Officer leading the finance, planning, credit/collections and revenue assurance functions. Aaron has worked across a range of sectors in both the UK and New Zealand, including at Vodafone New Zealand Ltd as Head of Planning & Reporting and at TelstraClear as Group Manager – Planning, Reporting & Analysis. Aaron brings a strong focus on business outcomes by engaging the technical expertise of the organisation with commercial opportunities and discipline.
General Counsel and GM Regulatory
Emily heads the legal, compliance and regulatory function of the New Zealand Group. She is responsible for the overall provision of legal support across Vocus’ five New Zealand brands as well as taking lead on regulatory matters. Emily started her career as a private practice solicitor, working at Russell McVeagh in Auckland followed by international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in London. She moved in-house as Corporate Counsel for an ASX/NZX listed company on her return to New Zealand before joining Vocus in 2016.
